Proven in long-haul expeditions, Pacific Action sails are stable, reliable and have great versatility. To raise the sail, unwrap the twin masts and release. The shock cord pulls the sail up. Adjust the sail angle using the trimming line, to sail across the wind. The sail can be lowered and stowed just as easily. See the on-line installation tutorial of PA Sail Rig and our related article: Pacific Action Sails Revisited.
All PA sails are the same, other than size. Sit-on-top versions come with rivets, assuming no inside access to the kayak hull, and that you have a rivet tool. Sit-in-side versions come with nuts and bolts, assuming inside access. Not all sit-on kayaks lack access, nor do all sit-in kayaks have easy internal access. You can use a sit-on sail kit with a sit-in kayak and vise-versa, with out any concern.
Sit-on sail kits come with additional cordage, (cord routes around the cockpit) while the sit-in kits come with less cordage (cord cuts across the deck). Additional pulleys and snap hooks can be found in this section.
Additional hardware is available. Rivet tools, cordage, rivets, well-nuts, ny-lock nuts and stainless steel machine screws are available in our Kayak Parts, Rope, and Hardware sections.
