The last Monday in May was a public holiday in the UK . The plan was to paddle the 6 km from Whitstable across to the Isle of Sheppey ,and then up the Swale and Oare Creek to the Shipwrights Arms.
On the day ,Rob and I were the only one's going -the wind and waves were F4 -later gusting F5 ,so we decided to coast around Whitstable Bay to Seasalter and back , rather than do the six km open water crossing ..A very enjoyable paddle ,needing cocentration ,butso nice to be in lumpy water again!
Rob was in his Carolina 14 SINK ,and I was in my old style Feel Free Nomad SOT .
